Carbon Dubbs Family Art Collection

Thils collection is a gift of the Carbon Dubbs family in honor of their mother, Junia Dubbs. It consists of eight artifacts: 2 are medieval rubbings which are hanging in the stair case of the Library. Item: 1) larger rubbing is 41" x 96", framed, designated Framed art 1 2) smaller rubbing is 24" x 41.25", framed, designated Framed art 2 Rubbing was made on Aug 28, 1970 in St. Mary Magdalene Church in Cobham, Kent, England. Has 2 notes on back: Inscription says "Rauf de Cobham of Kent, Esq. removed by death the 20th day of January in the of grace 1402, rests here. God on his soul have mercy" 2nd note says: Ref Sir William Cobham IN Fox's Original Complete Book of Martyrs or, an Universal History of Martyrdom by Rev. John Fox, M.A. pp 71 3) framed "Pear Soap" ad is 15" x 19.25", text on ad reads "Chums" Pears' Soap and a matchless complexion are inseparable companions' and the illustration is of two young ladies. Art Rail Slot 5 Back 4)Welsh engraving/political cartoon, framed, 16" x 19.5" showing goat and noblewoman in Art Rail Slot 5 Back 5) Collage #1, 34.5" x 42.5", framed, of people's faces. Has upright orientation. in Beckman Basement 6) Collage #2, 32.5" x 42.5", framed, has explosion + 1 face. Has horizontal orientation. in Beckman Basement. 7) nested Japanese basket with 2 baskets, one on top of another. boxes are 14.76" x 8 3/8" x 6"high. Handle is 21" tall going above 2 boxes. This is in Secure Storage Room 8) One reel-to-reel tape recording of the Chapman College Madrigals in 1958. 9) Two audio recordings or an interview with Junia Dubbs.
