Scope and Contents

Ten scrapbooks, mostly of newspaper clippings clipped and filed by Charles C. Chapman. They are arranged by subjects and then subseries of subjects. Subjects covered are Citrus, Editorials, Memorials, Miscellaneous, Personal, Politics, Religion. The 10th scrapbook contains newspaper obituaries of C. C. Chapman's death on April 6, 1944. In some cases, there are also documents pertaining to that subject tucked inside the scrapbooks. Major topics are Chapman College, Y.M.C.A., Los Angeles, Fullerton, Southern California, Chapman family, and citrus.

Abstract

Personal scrapbooks of Charles C. Chapman of mostly newspaper clippings on topics of interest to him--politics, religion, family, Chapman College and the citrus industry and cover Southern California cities such as Los Angeles and Fullerton where he resided. The 10th and final scrapbook was assembled following his death on April 6, 1944 and consists of obituaries and condolences.
