Abstract

This collection consists of reel-to-reel audio tapes of events captured throughout Chapman University's history. Digital surrogates of the audio reels are also included as part of the collection.

Arrangement

This collection is arranged numerically by local unique identifiers and Digital Revolution (vendor) barcode numbers.

Physical Location

This collection is located in the Rare Book Room on four shelves and in six cartons. More information can be found in the Instances. Shelf 1: 37 boxes; shelf 2: 38 boxes; shelf 3: 35 boxes; shelf 4: 35 boxes.

Custodial History

Boxes marked "Hertg Rm" indicate reels that used to be housed in the Thurmond Clarke Memorial Library (1967-2003) Heritage Room before their transfer to Leatherby Libraries after the latter's construction.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

No original, primary accession exists for this Resource as the bulk of the reel-to-reels were added to this repository by various offices over the years and were then individually cataloged in the Library Catalog. (Note: Not all items exist in the Catalog.) Accessions linked to this Resource, refer to previously digitized content from this physical collection. Not all reel-to-reels from this holding were digitized at the same time.

Processing Information

Processed by Brian Song in April 2023. Inventory list is derived from the original reel box labels, staff research, and descriptions created by the digitization vendors such as Digital Revolution. Items with the trailing characters ".96k" denote reels digitized previously in 2010.
