Series 1, Photographs, 1943 - 1948

Scope and Contents

This series contains 87 small photographs in black and white depicting the time that Capt. Gretchen H. Yoffa spent with the American Red Cross Clubmobiles in Japan. There are photos of Japanese locals, the Clubmobiles and the women that ran them, Japanese architecture, Nagasaki and the aftermath of bombings, horse riding, and some other shots of men in uniform. There is also a group of photographs depicting a small military function, perhaps a small parade, on a baseball diamond.

NOTE: There is one photo not included in this series, found with correspondence because of the specific mention of it in a letter it was sent with.
