 Series

Scope and Contents

This series contains correspondence from or concerning Capt. Gretchen H. Yoffa during the Second World War to her family. In October 1944, she wrote her family from Belgium and described the day to day of her time in Europe, adding a photograph with a young Belgian soldier. In December 1944, she wrote her sister and mentioned Paris being boring, and maybe visiting GI's in the hospital "for some excitement." In September 1945, a telegram was sent from the American Red Cross to her mother stating that Capt. Yoffa had arrived to her overseas destination safely.
