Scope and Contents

This series contains portraits and candid photographs of popular African-American entertainers. Photographs include entertainers such as Aretha Franklin, B.B. King, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Roberta Flack, Ben Vereen, Josephine Baker, Pearl Bailey, Eddie Anderson, Lena Horne, and Tamara Dobson. This series also contains several movie stills of Paramount Pictures' "The Soul of Nigger Charley."
