This collection contains one photocopied letter written to Mrs. J.J. Lawrence, about her brother's death. Lawrence's brother was John Walsh and served in the American Expeditionary Forces in France. The author of the letter [unknown name] was a friend and fellow soldier of John Walsh. John Walsh was hit by shrapnel during a shelling in the Argonne Forest. He was saved by an officer and was later put into a hospital. About a month later he died in a base hospital somwhere in France.
