This collection contains 50 correspondence from Pvt. Woodson Groom to his parents during the Second World War. Groom was part of the Company that took Munich and Nuremberg. In a letter dated May 23, 1945, he describes the liberation of the Dachau Concentration Camp, in which he participated. The collection was donated by his wife Martha.
