He discusses becoming a sergeant and being given order to go to Mulberry Island the same day he passes his sergeant exam. Also, a correspondence from Lawrence H. Riley to his grandmother and aunt. Furthermore, correspondence to John J. Hudson from H. "Doe" Dougherty. Also included are postcards, ephemera and clippings.
