Digital scan of the transcribed diary of George Imler. George Imler was in the 138th Regiment of the Pennsylvania Volunteers. The scanned diary was used as source material for a self-published book "It Was A Hard Life" written by Richard Gray, Jr.
Transcript was given to Robert Pope by Richard Gray, Jr. and provided as a gift to the Center for American War Letters via email by Sam Pope and the Pope family.
Original author died over 75 years ago, however, the transcript provided was made by Richard Gray, Jr. who may hold copyright to the digitized materials.
