This collection contains letters written to Annie McFarland of Dublin, VA during the Civil War. About half of the letters were written by a man named Will, whose identity was unknown. Others were written by her brother Henry who was a Private in the 22nd Regiment of the Virginia Infantry of the Confederate Army. Most of the letters are fading and the handwriting is frequently illegible.
