LA Times obituary - http://articles.latimes.com/1998/aug/17/local/me-14002 -- Ventura County Star obituary was published 8/20/1998 (See: Series 12 for print copy) -- From donor information: "Douglass joined the Army in 1942 - trained to become a fighter pilot and became a member of USAAF, U.S. Army Air Force. He flew bombing and strafing missions over Germany. After the war he joined the Reserves. Trained flyers @SAC and retired with rank of Lt Col." -- According to correspondence, especially letter of Feb. 13, 1945, he married "Kitty" on March 17, 1944.
