Charles Clarke Chapman Papers, 1844-1972

Abstract

The papers of Charles C. Chapman include files he personally kept and organized and a few items such as his academic robe, some photographs and some citrus fruit labels that his family deposited at a later date. Charles C. Chapman's papers include his files pertaining to his long association with Chapman College, speeches he gave on over 400 occasions, copius notes by topic for his autobiography, pamphlets and news articles of interest to him, and personal and business papers.

Abstract

Personal scrapbooks of Charles C. Chapman of mostly newspaper clippings on topics of interest to him--politics, religion, family, Chapman College and the citrus industry and cover Southern California cities such as Los Angeles and Fullerton where he resided. The 10th and final scrapbook was assembled following his death on April 6, 1944 and consists of obituaries and condolences.

Abstract The Bruce Brown scrapbook contains primarilty newspapers articles that include histories of First Christian Church of Fullerton, South Park Christian Church, Los Angeles, Charles C. Chapman, Freemasonry, Ku Klux Klan in Los Angeles, women's rights, etc. There is a little primary material, in the form of a letter, a Spokane Base Ball Club season pass, and church event flyers and notices.
