Abstract

Ephemera, scripts, photographs, sheet music, and conductor scores from Chapman's annual American Celebration fundraiser, established in 1981 as a performing arts showcase for the university. In 2016, the name of the fundraiser changed to Chapman Celebrates.

Scope and Contents 1986 is clear glass with red lettering saying "Chapman College Christmas 1986" 1987 is smallish, white with green lettering "Chapman College" surrounds "Christmas '87" and has a green stenciled Christmas tree at the top. The reverse side has 3 similar trees of different sizes. 1988 is green with a picture of a dove saying "Peace on Earth" 1991 is red with a picture of Christmas present that is really the Chapman U. symbol. Says "Peace on Earth". 1993 is blue snowflake on frosted glass...

Abstract

This series represents the history, photographs and ephemera of the Women of Chapman, formerly the Fashionables, who raises funds for Chapman University, primarily through their December fundraiser, Christmas at the Ritz.

Hilbert Museum of California Art ceremonial groundbreaking shovel. Shovel that was used for the groundbreaking for the construction of the latest building of the Hilbert Museum. The blade of the handle includes concept art of the new building. Burned into the wooden handle the text reads, "Groundbreaking - February 15, 2023." (Known as Object 1 in the Instances.)

Known simply as "albums" by Town and Gown members, the group Historian or a member of the organization maintained scrapbook albums commemorating the memories of the members.
