Scope and Contents This series contains photographs depicting the various demonstrations during the Civil Rights Movement from 1956 to 1975. The subject matter of the various photographs include marches commemorating the anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr.; the "March against Repression"; the "March to Montgomery"; and demonstrations against Alabama Governor George Wallace. A notable photograph is a group photograph of the Supreme Court Justices of the time.
