Scope and Contents This series contains 885 correspondence from COL William B. Hood, USAAF to his wife Catherine (Katie) Hood, as well as some to friends, during the Second World War. Of particular note are his descriptions of Indian culture, color, daily life, and their comparison to his time in West Africa. Also of note is the great deal of time spent in the hospital with malaria.

Scope and Contents This series contains correspondence from or concerning Capt. Gretchen H. Yoffa during the Second World War to her family. In October 1944, she wrote her family from Belgium and described the day to day of her time in Europe, adding a photograph with a young Belgian soldier. In December 1944, she wrote her sister and mentioned Paris being boring, and maybe visiting GI's in the hospital "for some excitement." In September 1945, a telegram was sent from the American Red Cross to her mother...

In these letters, Lucille keeps Dwight up-to-date on William’s condition.

"Dick" McKissick, USA during the Second World War. Also included are returned letters from Mildred to Sgt. McKissick, letters to Mildred from seven other authors, as well as three letters from a Japanese boy named Toshifumi Tatsumi in Osaka and a postcard from B. Kanno in Japan from 1915-1917.
